INTRO / ARTIST STATEMENT

I’m drawn to the liminal space—where realism dissolves into emotion, and light becomes more than what we see.

My work lives in that place between image and feeling, where boundaries blur and something new begins.

ROOTED IN ART, SHAPED BY LIGHT

Rooted in photography but shaped by decades of artistic study, I began my creative journey in the darkroom over 30 years ago. My education has spanned AA & AFA degrees, intensive workshops nationwide, and countless hours of personal exploration.

Over time, the camera became not just a tool of documentation, but a starting point for transformation.

THE LAYERED LIGHT™ PROCESS

Photography has always been the art of capturing light.

In my signature process, Layered Light™, I merge that captured light with digital brushwork, hand-applied textures & shadows, and wax finishes to create luminous, impressionistic works

Each piece begins with a photographic foundation, then grows through layers of both digital and physical artistry, dissolving the boundaries between photography and painting.

RECOGNITION & ROLES

My work has been honored with numerous Best of Show and First Place ribbons in juried exhibitions, recognized nationally for both fine art and book design, and featured at the Epcot Center.

I’m a Certified Professional Photographer, have judged art competitions, served as a board member with Professional Photographers of Ohio, and led workshops to help other artists expand their creative vision.

Above all, I create to stir something quiet and true in the viewer—to offer a visual pause, a breath of beauty, and a sense of light that lingers.
